Sublimation (heat-transfer) printing on polyester
Sublimation heat-transfer printing on polyester and polyester-rich fabrics in Okhla, New Delhi. Dye bonds into the fibre: bright colour, soft hand.
Sublimation is a heat-transfer process. The design is printed with sublimation (disperse) inks onto transfer paper, then heat and pressure turn the dye into a gas that enters the polyester fibres. When the fabric cools the dye is locked inside the fibre, so there is no layer on top: no cracking, no peeling and no change in feel.
So “sublimation printing” and “heat-transfer printing” on polyester are one process, not two. We offer it alongside direct digital printing, which we use for natural and blended fabrics.
- For polyester, polyester chiffon and polyester-rich blends
- Print becomes part of the fibre: soft hand, bright colour
- Suited to scarves, cushion covers, bags and fashion fabrics
- Samples first, then bulk

Is heat transfer the same as sublimation?
On polyester fabric, yes: sublimation transfer is the heat-transfer method used for textiles. Other heat transfers, such as vinyl or film transfers, leave a layer on the surface of the fabric; we do not use those. Sublimation needs polyester, so for cotton, silk, viscose, linen and wool we print directly instead. More in our guide.

Frequently asked questions
Is sublimation the same as heat transfer printing?
Sublimation is a type of heat-transfer printing: the design is printed on paper and transferred into polyester with heat. On fabric we treat them as one process.
Can sublimation print on cotton?
No. The dye bonds only with polyester fibres. For cotton we use direct digital printing.
Will a sublimation print crack or peel?
No. The dye sits inside the polyester fibre rather than on top of it.
